Yo party peeeeeepllle!
It's your friendly Cap'n.
The crew would like to get a head count of who would like to take the April 19th sojourn that the group majority is agreeing to as of late.
Here is a rundown lisss of everyone that is "in" for this date:
  • Steph & Josh
  • Jen & John
  • Trav & Duane
  • Laura L (tentative)
  • Michelle
That's the group so far.
Miss Stacy G. has contacted me to let us know that due to schedules at the ol' Mouse House, she will bow this voyage out and get together with the group at our next function (hopefully around October).
The Cap'n knows good palz Bri & Mel have certain days available due to scheduling restrictions but would still like to extend the ramp for them if they'd like to board this cruise that sets forth on April 19th, 2007.
The good Cap'n has also extended offers to Miss Kim Larson and Miss Fanny Eubanks.
We have yet to hear from those birds, but will strongarm 'em this week.
Sometime soon (let's say by end of this week) let's all start to make reservations.
I know Dr. D had offered to put everyone's rooms on his credit card, so, let us know what you wanna do or if each of you would like to do it seperately and at your convenience.
"Da sooner da better" is the phrase of the moment, folks.
Let's knock the plannings for "Pleasuuure Cruise 2007" outta the way so we can all start gearing up for the party of the year!
That is all.
Everyone on the ledo deck for a game o' hide the salami!

Get this ball rolling!!

Just wanted to initiate some discussion about the choices available and give my personal preferences, although I am not limited to those preferences. The destination for the 3 or 4 day cruises are the Bahamas, and most 5-7 day cruises are the Caribbean. I don't care either way, I enjoy the cruise ship more than the ports. Keep in mind the cruise ships start boarding around noon on the day of departure, but don't depart until approximately 5:00. On the last day of the cruise, you usually leave the ship very early in the AM.

For those who prefer to travel around the weekends the 3 day cruises from Port Canaveral and Miami will probably work best, leaving on a Friday and returning on a Monday.

For those looking for a longer cruise, The 4 day cruise from Fort Lauderdale on April 19 (Thursday-Monday) for $399.00; or the 5 day cruise from Miami on May 4th (Friday-Wed) for $389.00, work best around the weekend. Other 4-5 day cruises are through the week. I don't mind driving a little further for a longer cruise and a better value, we could car pool. These two cruises are my personal favorites.

The least expensive cruises are leaving from Miami although this is the furthest port from Orlando but accessible within a few hours by car. 3 day cruises are from $269.00 on May 4th and $279.00 on May 11.

I am OK with the 3 day cruise from Port Canaveral on April 6, however I prefer to do a longer cruise. What do you guys think?

Once everyone decides on a cruise, I am volunteering to call Royal Caribbean to book the cabins for all of us. They require that I give the names of all passengers, One email address for each cabin, and a $100 deposit for each person on my Credit Card. This will hold the cabins. You will then receive an Email invoice for your cabin and will have until 60 days prior to the cruise to pay the balance either online or by calling Royal Caribbean. The deposit is refundable up to 60 days prior to the cruise.

Cruisin' For Updates

Ok everyone!
After viewing the blog today, I think we all as a group are in need of some cruise info as a whole we can all agree on a cruise.
Enter Dr. D.
He has researched cruise dates, prices, ports, etc and has provided a chart for you all to view.
This chart includes all available Royal Caribbean Cruise options for April and early May within driving distance of Orlando, FL.
The goal is to include everyone in on this info so that we all can agree on 1 cruise that would accomodate most everyone.
Click on the image below to download a pdf of the chart.

What we would like to do is square all of this away by this coming Friday, January 19th at 10pm EST.
That will give everyone enough time to go over the info and make a decision as to what best suits them.
This blog should be used to chime in with your choices, whether it be by posting or leaving comments.
Let's hear from everyone by the posted date above on this blog.
We are all close to a decision, peeps!
YOU CAN DOOOOO EEET!
I have a dreammmm...oh wait, that was yesterday....

Pleassuuure Cruise Updates

So it looks like the Easter weekend time for a cruise is sounding good to everyone.
Wanna know if everyone says YEP to it.
The dates for that are:
This morning a little birdie (D) told me that the cheaper rates for that cruise have already been sold out.
To book on it now would be around $379 (+ taxes and port charges) per person.
If that's too much for peeps to do, maybe we need to look into going a little later. Not sure the dates for a later one, but, the little birdie (D again) was saying that if you book 3 months or more out, you get the better deals.
So lessss figure dis shit out!
DISCUSSSS!

Ok, so...I screwed up.

I was futzing with my server today and accidentally wiped out all of my imagery for this site, etc.
What's cool is the new funky look for this blog, eh?
Hope that everyone checks the comments on this blog (as well as this blog in general).
Things are looking like we would be going cruisin' the weekend of Easter.
If anyone objects to that, get in touch with me or posssssst on here.
I also updated this blog to the new blogger so, anyone that hasn't upgraded on blogger yet will have to do so (go ahead and say it: you SUCK Trav!)
Anyways, AHOY MATIES!

So the pickin's are purtty slim...

I just got my vacation schedule for 2007.

The company has kindly given us the following days off:

Easter: Thursday April 5 - Sunday April 8 (could take 1 additional day Monday, maybe Tuesday, too)

Memorial Day: Monday May 28

Fourth of July: Wednesday July 4 ONLY (but I think B and I are workin' on something else for that time.

Thanksgiving: Thursday November 22 - Sunday November 25

I also technically have Thursday July 12 - Sunday July 22 off, but I think B and I are workin' on something else for that time.

My mandatory vacation is Friday December 20 - Sunday January 6, 2008.

So plan away! Just let me know when the boat leaves! I'll be there with bells on!
